- Continuous display gives you continuous awareness of your current glucose levels
- Alerts give you more insight into dangerous highs and lows for added peace of mind and confidence
- Comfortable and compact design
With the Guardian REAL-Time System you can know so much more! Not only will you always know what your glucose level is, you'll know which way it's heading, how fast it's moving there and, as you approach your glucose limits, you'll be warned to take action. Added confidence over 24 hours, with 288 glucose readings a day to help you understand the impact that food, exercise and medication have on your glucose levels.
By itself, a fingerstick can only tell you what your glucose level is at that moment in time - just think what you'd know if you saw what was happening between each one. It's like comparing a photograph to a film!
- Predictive Alerts to warn you 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or even 30 minutes before glucose limits have been reached.
- Rate of Change Alerts to let you know when your glucose levels are changing - one arrow for movement and two for rapid change.
- Low and High Alerts to tell you when you've reached the glucose limits you've set.
The Guardian™ REAL-Time System can go anywhere you go, no matter how active your lifestyle. The monitor is small, comfortable and easy to wear — on your belt, in your pocket, or under your clothing. The Glucose Sensor is the same used by all of Medtronic CGM systems - it is easy to insert and can be worn for up to 6 days at a time. This connects to the MiniLink™ REAL-Time Transmitter12, the same transmiiter used with our insulin pumps, which is small, discreet and waterproof and sends your glucose data wirelessly to update the monitor every 5 minutes.
The Guardian™ REAL-Time System is ideal if you, whether you are using an insulin pump or not:
- Need added information from lows and highs
- Experience hypoglycaemia unawareness
- Desire better control
- Have gestational diabetes
- Have diabetes and are pregnant
- Have elevated HbA1C levels
The Guardian™ REAL-Time System is approved for all patients who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. It is a tried and tested system that has been popular with both hospitals and individual patients for years, and is still winning due to its small and compact size, its compatibility with other Medtronic products, its suitability for anyone and above all, the support from Medtronic, the most experienced company offering CGM technology.
